Im Sophia, a multi-disciplinary designer passionate about the role of design in creating meaningful social change. As someone rooted in the human-centered design process, I recognize the importance of striking the balance between beauty and functionality in my work. I understand the integral role that users play in the creation of any product and strive to take a user-oriented approach in everything I do.

While I specialize in UI/UX and product design, I'm always looking for new experiences and skillsets to broaden my perspective!

A Passion For

Creating

When I’m not working on projects, I love exploring other creative (and mostly food related) outlets. You can typically find me experimenting in the kitchen - my most recent challenge has been perfecting a creamy tonkatsu ramen.

My idea of relaxing is traveling to new cities ( & trying new foods) or attempting to throw lop sided bowls on a pottery wheel. But no matter what I'm doing I'm always listening to music...

How Do I Keep Busy?

My time at UC Berkeley has opened my eyes to many new avenues of design. There are a number of ways that I like to stay involved.

HCD Decal

I'm also passionate about design and accessibility education. Since 2023 I have been teaching the human-centered design decal at UC Berkeley. In this 70 person class, we teach design thinking and basic principles to those new to the design field!

Berkeley Innovation

BI is the first design community I ever joined <3. Since then, I've served as President, External Vice President, Education Director, Social Director, Project Mentor, and Design Consultant. That's a lot of different hats!

Blockchain @ Berkeley

I love breaking in to new avenues of design. Recently, I have been exploring the role of ux research principles in blockchain & web3 spaces as a design consultant at Blockchain @ Berkeley. I led the first ever UX research project for this department.
